Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea

Neverland in Fantasy Springs with full pirate ship on the water and mountains in the background

On June 6th Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan opened their newest themed land and hotel at Tokyo DisneySea. Fantasy Springs is a gorgeous expansion of DisneySea featuring Fantasy Springs Hotel that oversees and connects directly to the new lands of Peter Pan, Frozen, and Tangled. This expansion features four new rides and three new restaurants to immerse you in each of these magical worlds.

Fantasy Springs Hotel looks like it jumped right out of a princess cartoon with the opulence of a royal palace and the whimsy of classic Disney animation. Every inch of the hotel has little details of each of the princesses woven into it, from more subtle floral designs to murals and paintings throughout the hallways and rooms. The inside is truly grand, but my favorite part might just be the outside.

Between the park and the hotel is a collection of springs with waterfall, flower, and rock formations in the shapes of various Disney cartoons. These springs and rock formations continue into the park itself and throughout the new land. The intricacies are stunning, with multiple pathways surrounded by lush greenery to explore.

Once inside of the park, the level of detail continues into Neverland, with a pirate ship and skull cavern right in the water for you to explore. You can dine at the Lookout Cookout, filled with clothes, drawings, and decorations from the lost boys and some incredibly cute lunchbox meals. You get a choice of butter chicken curry or lemon tea chicken meals. This land features two rides: Tinker Bell's Busy Buggies and Peter Pan's Neverland Adventure. Tinker Bell's Busy Buggies is a cute outdoor ride that spins through the land of the fairies. Peter Pan's Neverland Adventure takes you on a 3D journey with Peter Pan and his friends to save John from Captain Cook.

Rapunzel animatronic in her tower

In Rapunzel's forest, you'll find Rapunzel singing from her tower over the attraction Rapunzel's Lantern Festival. This boat ride takes you through some of your favorite scenes from Tangled, including the beautiful and iconic lantern festival. You can also visit the Snuggly Duckling, upgraded with designs by Rapunzel herself. They offer beef or shrimp burgers along with a selection of drinks and desserts.

Inside of Arendelle is Anna and Elsa's palace, the Royal Banquet restaurant, Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey attraction, and catch a glimpse of the mountain where Elsa made her icy fortress. The Frozen Journey attraction takes your through the story, similar to the version of the ride in Walt Disney World in Florida, but has upgraded effects and animatronics that bring the immersion to a whole new level. At the Royal Banquet, you get to dine inside of the palace with your choice of beef or seafood pies.

Overall, I think this land is beautifully done. I love that all of the dining options are quick service but still intricate, beautiful, and huge. You can never have too much seating at a Disney restaurant. I'm so thrilled to finally see Tangled get the ride it deserves, and I love that the Frozen and Peter Pan rides aren't just carbon copies of the US parks. As a lover of the Tinker Bell fairies as a kid, I'm also excited to see some love for the fairies! However, I do wish there was a little more in the area for them. The resort and the springs look so gorgeous, and I look forward to visiting them in the future.
