Haeundae in Busan is one of my favorite places that I have visited in Korea. There is so much to do in the area. Stretching straight to the beach is Gunam-ro, the main road with plenty of shops and restaurants, and nearby there is a traditional market. Farther inland you'll find Shinsegae Centum City, which is the world's largest department store, Spa Land, and Museum 1. Along the beach are the event plaza and the Sea Life Busan Aquarium. Check out the map of Haeundae below.
Sea Life Busan is a gorgeous aquarium featuring a shark zone, turtle rescue zone, seahorse kingdom, and sea at night zone. They also have various fish, penguins, otters, and jellyfish. If you're looking for something a little more hands-on, you can feed sharks, penguins, or otters, go out on a glass-bottomed boat, or head to the VR zone.
Each section of the aquarium is beautifully designed, making the spaces outside of the tanks just as interesting as what's inside. The rainforest section twinkles with fairy lights strewn through leaves along the ceiling. The sea at night zone glows under black lights. One of my favorite sections was themed around fashion with little fish tanks in a giant shoe and a makeup stand and a dress made of corals. You also get to walk through tunnels through a tank with fish swimming all around you.
In addition to hands-on activities for kids, there is a mermaid show multiple times a day. Right now you can also visit the Brickman Wonders of the World exhibit. For an extra cost, you can see Lego recreations of over fifty famous landmarks and artworks. These were created by an Australian Lego artist who has brought his displays to cities across the world.
Tickets are currently ₩22,000 on their website or as low as $13.35 on Klook. Combo tickets for the aquarium and the Brickman exhibit start at $21.59 on Klook.
